28th ALL INDIA G.V. MAVLANKAR SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION

The saying,‘Opportunities Don’t Happen , You Create Them’ can rightly be bestowed on SERGEANT,Kritika Singh of XI A from 1 RAJASTHAN ARMED SQUADRON NCC, JAIPUR . Keeping in mind her exemplary performance in ‘ALL INDIA THAL SAINIK CAMP-2018’ and ‘ALL INDIA REPUBLIC DAY CAMP-2019’, she was chosen to join the Senior Wing NCC as an open entrant on DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL of Rajasthan’s NCC recommendation .

Post enrollment , she was selected to participate in the 28th ALL INDIA G.V.MAVLANKAR SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION . Proving her skills SERGEANT, Kritika Singh not only cleared her selection camps but also topped the charts as the youngest entrant of the National Team. She, along with 16 cadets, was selected for National Championship from Rajasthan. They have topped as the 10 SHOOTERS of the National Team . Kritika has added one more feather to the Sophian Cap.

15th April, 2019- YOUNG CHEF INDIA 2019

Young Chef India is a national level culinary competition for school students where their creativity, skills and love for food is tested by famous culinary dignitaries. Our school also participated in this prestigious event. One of our students, Kashish Agarwal of class XII (Humanities) under the guidance of Ma’am Sarika Agarwal got selected for North Regional finals, where she represented Rajasthan among other northern states. International culinary expert, Chef Shaun presented her with memento and gift hamper.

The Emerging Artist of Sophia

Sophia’s budding artist Krishnapriya R. Dharamveer of Class V C, became the youngest artist to participate in World Art Dubai competition held from 3rd to 6th April 2019. Her painting in oil colours on Krishna using gold plating and Australian beads was appreciated by all. Out of 16 participants from India, she was the only one selected from Rajasthan to represent the country.

She has also received Emerging Artist Award from Kalaakar Foundation for her fabulous contribution to art. On the International Women’s Day. She participated and displayed her paintings in the art exhibition- “Women Art Aura” at Jawahar Kala Kendra. She won everyone’s heart with her creative talent. She is also commendable for individually holding her second Art exhibition on the theme “Krishna Rang” at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK), Jaipur.


2018-19

Bare- Knuckle Boxing

The word “Sports” has always been an integral part of learning in St. Angela Sophia School, Jaipur

“Don’t count the days but make days count”, as the motto of our school’s sports team. Boxer Kanishka Naruka of grade 8, has brought laurels to the school. She participated in the 13th Sub-Junior Girls District Championship, 2018 , held at Kota. She bagged Gold medal in weight category 48-50 Kg and bagged Bronze medal in weight category B-13, organized by Rajasthan Boxing Association .

Kudos! To the young champion for making sophians proud.

Her achievement will ring through the history of the school.

Co- Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities

For the holistic development of a child the school has decided to organise extra classes of Co- curricular and extra curricular activities for the students of classes 3rd to 8th during zero period. The students are well trained by expert teachers on classical dance (Kathak) and Music both Vocal and Instrumental. Around 100 students have enrolled themselves and regular classes for the same are carried out successfully.

It is an initiative by our Principal Rev. Sr. Arlene to induce the culture and tradition of our country in every child.

Achievement of our Sports Team

The students of our school participated in PIE Olympics conducted by Rajasthan Patrika. Our school was declared winner in Various Sports i.e. BasketBall Girls (Under -18), Badminton Girls (Under-14) and under -18 category, Long Jump Girls (Under- 18).

Nandini Sharma of class XII was declared as the best Athlete and was awarded two Gold medals at state level Athletic tournament held at Banswara in CBSE clusters.

Pre – RDC Camp NCC

NCC is an integral part of our school curriculum. Every year students are selected from our school to participate in the Republic Day Camp(RDC). This year Cadet Kritika Singh and Cadet Venya Gangwani participated in pre RDC Camp held from October 9 to October 18, 2018 at Universe Public School Sirsi Road, Mundiya Ranswar. They participated in Group Folk Dance, Flag area, National Integration Awareness Programme and Best Cadet Competition .Our Cadet secured first prize in group singing completion. They were selected to represent the Jaipur team in the next Pre- RDC Camp being held at RAJ GIRLS BN UNIT, near JKK , Jaipur from October 27 to November 5 , 2018.
