3rd September 2012

Out Reach Programme for the flood victims:

Articles were collected for the flood - victims by the classes VI to XII. Some students & teachers went with the Sisters to distribute these to the flood – victims. Many flood victims visited the school premises and the Sophian family rendered help wholeheartedly.

5th September 2012

Teachers’ Day Celebration:

The management and the students celebrated the Teacher’s Day with love and gratitude. A Prayer service and cultural programme was organised. The management honoured the teachers. Gifts and flowers were presented to the teachers. A sumptuous lunch was arranged for the teachers.

8th September 2012

A Seminar on ‘Fashion Designing’ was organised by the Pearl Academy of Fashion Designing for the students of the Humanities Section (Class XI E and XII E), in which the designers of Pearl Academy enlightened the students on the importance of creativity, communication skills and technical designing.

10th September 2012

A National Debate Competition was held at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Jaipur Branch. 30 students from 15 renowned schools had participated. The following students from class XII (Commerce) participated: to debate upon

1. Aishwarya Agarwal (XII B) 2. Megha Rathore (XII A) Megha Rathore bagged the 2nd Prize for speaking against the topic.

13th September 2012

The staff and students celebrated the ‘Management Day’ with love and respect. A prayer service and a cultural programme was organised by the students of all the sections – kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Sr. Secondary. Sr. Helen, the principal explained the importance of “13th September” as this day is the Day of Exaltation of Christ.

26th September 2012

A talk on Safety measures for the use of LPG Gas was organised by ‘Gas Safe India’. Mr. Sunil Khandelwal enlightened the students and teachers about the proper and safe use of gas cylinders in the kitchen. He provided the teachers with the registration forms for installing the safety device.

27th September 2012

A talk was organised for the students of class XI & XII on ‘Eye Care’ conducted by Dr. Madhu and Dr. Meghraj of ‘Anand Eye Hospital’, and a talk on ‘Breast Cancer’ was organised by Ex – Angelite Association conducted by the famous Dr. Nidhi Patni from Mahaveer Cancer Hospital. She enlightened the students on causes, symptoms, myths, precautions and treatment of Breast Cancer, and solved the queries of the teachers and students. The students were benefitted a great deal from these two special sessions and increased their awareness level.

Time Table Competition

Time Table Competition for classes XI and XII was organized. Students actively took part and came out with innovative ideas. The winners of the competition were:

Quiz on Traffic Rules

Quiz competition was held for the students of classes X to XII to make them aware about the traffic rules and symbols. It was house wise. Three students from each house were selected. The competition was very interesting and educative. After the results, the guests enlightened the students more about the traffic rules. The winners of the quiz were:

Cultural Fest

India land of varied culture with folk, dances, folk songs and festivals are united with diversity. Keeping this in mind various competitions were held for classes VI to VIII. Fancy dress was conducted for class VI in which two girls from each house dressed up like freedom fighters presented their role. The winners were:

Patriotic song for class VII was also conducted. Each house presented patriotic song with depiction. The winners were:

Inter – House competition was held for depiction of different states of India by class X. Students exhibited their talents. They put up a very colourful presentation of different states of East, West, North and South India. The winners were:

The Independence Day celebration

The management, staff and students celebrated the 65th Independence Day on 15th August 2012 with zeal and enthusiasm. The feeling of patriotism was in the very air of the school. Mrs. Divya Vashisht(I.R.S.), an Ex- Angelite, graced the occasion as the chief guest for the day. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students. Sister Helen, the Principal, enlightened the students by her inspiring words.

Training by Professionals

We are grateful to Sr. Helen, the Principal, for starting the training by professionals in Basket Ball, Lawn Tennis, Badminton, Karate and Instrumental Music. The hidden and untapped talent that lies within the students is further enhanced through these special classes.

2) Annual Exhibition

Various exhibitions were organised this year to enhance the knowledge of the students in the fields of Science and Technology, Mathematics, Social Science, Literature, Fine Arts, etc.

The Students of Classes VIII and IX depicted the Scenario of various disasters taking place in the country like floods, earthquakes, cyclones etc. In the exhibition various models were put up focussing not only the causes responsible for the disasters but even their preventive measures. There were some working models too. The students of classes VI to XI presented various working and static models to depict science on various burning aspects like alternative sources of energy, environmental issues and their remedial measures, agriculture and food security, health issues, science in everyday life and also science for fun.

The day bound by the efforts of little mathematicians is not long lost when our mathematics exhibition took place on 14th and 15th December 2012. The aim was successfully achieved by the projects made by the students of classes VIII , IX, and X. Our main motive behind this exhibition was to enhance the practical knowledge of students and to develop interest towards Mathematics. We also tried our level best in showcasing our creativity over different aspects of mathematics like probability, trigonometry, statistics, algebra etc.

Without pains there has never been any glory. So, we tried to imbibe all these things in ourselves and made our best efforts in making a perfect and interactive way of learning. Their efforts were highly innovative and remarkable and their hard work was appreciated by all the visitors.

A Visit To A Unique Science Exhibition

A unique science exhibition focussing on Bio-diversity and Climatic changes was organised on the Indian Railway Networks by the Central Government. The students of classes IX to XII visited it. Their idealistic enthusiasm was a feast for our eyes.

A gesture to help the Flood victims

The management, staff and students extended a helping hand towards the flood victims in Jaipur. The Principal motivated the students and the entire Sophian family helped the flood victims generously.

Teen Of The Year

“The Teenager” magazine organises “The Teen of the Year” contest every year. This year Soumya Sharma and Megha Rathore were selected at the Zonal level. Megha Rathore made it to the finals which were held at Mumbai and received the award for the “Best Community Project”

Save Environment, Save Life

The school conducted various activities to make the students aware of “Sustainable Development”. An exhibition,Rally on Save Water, and tree plantation programmes were organised to motivate students to save “Mother Earth”.

Excursion to Udaipur and Mt. Abu

The students discovered the new roots of adventure by experiencing a delightful exploration to Udaipur and Mt. Abu. We are grateful to our dear Sr. Helen,the Principal for her thoughtful actions and worthy ways.

Sophia celebrates The Annual Day

The management, staff and students celebrated the Annual Day in the month of December. The theme of the function was ‘Peace and Love’. Mr. Umesh Mishra, IPS, graced the occasion on December 14, 2012 and Reverend Father Edward Oliviera,Vicar General of the DIOCSE of Jaipur, spared his valuable time on December 15, 2012. The function was a grand success.

Ex-Angelite Meet

The Ex-Angelite Association was revived by the efforts of Sr. Helen,the Principal. A dance party and a mini fete were organised on January 23, 2013. The core committee gave a treat to the outgoing batch of 2013. There was fun in the very air of St. Angela’s.

Counselling, Talks and Seminars

The Management organised personal counselling for the students, teachers and supporting staff members to guide them how to cope up with the difficult situations in life. General awareness was created on “Breast Cancer” by cancer specialist, Dr. Nidhi Patni, an Ex-Angelite. Teachers were enlightened for inculcating spiritual quotient along with emotional and intellectual quotient by Father Isaac SDB from Don Bosco. Mr. Joe Monterio gave career counselling to the senior students.

We congratulate Mrinali Modi of class XII for her excellence in academics. She received an award of academic excellence from Mr. Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and was also selected among the meritorious students in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna 2012 at the National level

History is theirs whose language is the Sun

We are proud of Rajeshwari Kalla of class VII as she was awarded the best speaker of Pink City, Jaipur in the Elocution Competition organised by “All for Kids” and “HIT”. She received a cash prize of Rs.7,500
